Those Who Play with Fire

For the next five months I will be living and studying in Paris. During my second week here, I was told about a huge “underground” fire breathing rave that is held once a year at Tokyo Palais. Amateurs and professionals from all over France come to eat, breath, juggle, and play with fire. This was the eighth year that they have such a thrilling event. Aurelien, pictured above, has been playing with fire for three years now. When I asked why he does this, he responded “why not? It’s fire! It’s an art…but it’s also part of me. It is like a friend from a long time ago.”
